From the Editor | The Year Ahead
On creating the January/February 2023 issue
The New Year has arrived, stretching invitingly before us like a blank page. Some of us write lists of resolutions, some start long-awaited projects, which is why CH&L’s Remodel issue is timely. Inside this issue you’ll find stunning renovations of homes in Louisville, Denver, Castle Pines and Boulder resulting from carefully executed plans—and, as one homeowner says, it’s all in the details.
The talented individuals who plan these remarkable redos, as well as newly constructed residences, are honored in this issue as CH&L debuts the Top Interior Designers and Kitchen Designers list organized by location, the list was created to be reader-friendly—and the digital version makes it easy to click directly onto designers’ websites.
As our team looks ahead at the New Year, we plan to bring you plenty of “new” in upcoming issues—in March/April we focus on furniture—specifically Colorado-based products and makers; May/June highlights “backyarding” and how something that really blossomed during the pandemic has continued to grow; and in September/October we’ll spotlight lighting—key to good design—and the experts who create that magic.
Of course, we’ll also bring your annual favorites: the freshest kitchens, best baths, and our pick for 2023 Home of the Year.
I wish you a rich year ahead—of books read in cozy rooms, gardens with abundant blooms, backyard barbecues with friends and family, and bluebird days with plentiful winter snow. We’ll be there with you through the year ahead, bringing you the best in Colorado.
