At Denver's Beckon | Call
Next to Beckon, RiNo's Call is dedicated to day-drinking and serious snacking
Skip the formal lunch and head to Call, a new progressive dining spot in RiNo dedicated to day-drinking and serious snacking. Craig Lieberman, founder of cracker company 34 Degrees CrispS, hired Frasca Food and Wine alums—culinary director Duncan Holmes and director of experience Allison Anderson—to run his new dual-venture. It’s no shock that Bon Appétit named Call one of America’s 10 Best New Restaurants.
What is surprising is the Scandinavian-inspired menu: sourdough aebleskivers (a Danish pancake puff); cured salmon tartine on dense, seeded rye bread; furi-cado, an avocado on the half-shell with a flurry of furikake and herbs; and a savory pork and fried-egg sandwich. The other half of Lieberman’s dual-concept is sister restaurant and next-door neighbor, the recently opened Beckon, which offers an intimate, multicourse tasting menu and just a few seatings per night.
