The words that come to mind when thinking about the Hotel Clio are fancy, swanky and classy. It is fitting that the hotel is located in an upscale Denver neighborhood full of art galleries, yoga studios, and the most luxurious shopping mall experience at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center—think Neiman Marcus, Gucci and Chanel.

Yes, Cherry Creek is a stylish place and has been for many years, and Hotel Clio fits right in. Opened in 2022, it’s part of the Marriott Luxury Collection, with 193 rooms, six suites, and 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. They welcome chic weddings and boutique conferences. The design aesthetic is a reflection of the Wild West spirit of Colorado. A nature-inspired palate flows throughout the space, and even into Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge, a Chef Richard Sandoval restaurant.

While the west was wild, the designers of Hotel Clio kept luxury top-of-mind. A pleasing organic palate mingles with metal accents and pops of gold throughout the hotel. Even the handblow-glass lighting keeps the theme of the natural world alive. Hotel Clio features modern art on the walls continuing the upscale theme, however, sometimes colorful pieces from Relévant Galleries and Clayton Lane Fine Arts find their way into the hotel lobby.

In celebration of the National Western Stock Show this winter, Relévant Galleries is showing some colorful modern cowboy paintings by Geoffrey Gersten, and the ever popular photographer, David Yarrow. Yarrow’s works grace many walls in elegant homes in Colorado’s mountain towns. Hotel Clio takes full advantage of being flanked by some of the world’s best galleries. The pop art of Paul Roussou from next door Clayton Lane Fine Arts, currently gives the lobby of Hotel Clio an extra pop of color in the form of Marilyn Monroe and an incredible piece featuring Paul Newman and Robert Redford as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Inside the hotel, through the lobby and past reception, guests find themselves in a sophisticated lounge complete with a dark tiled bar. This is where the west meets the east. The two collide in a delicious fusion at Toro, the hotel restaurant. Here Latin cuisine is complemented by Asian influences like the flambé salmon roll complete with chipotle mayo, or the pork belly tacos with kimchi. It’s the kind of place that sees everything from ballgowns to Wranglers. And while Toro is an upmarket restaurant, appealing to customers with high-end tastes, a laidback atmosphere is punctuated by excellent steak meaning all feel welcome.

A Mountain View King, offers a splendid view of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. A stay means plush pillows, divinely comfy robes, and a deep tub for a long and luxurious soak. Even Fido can join in the fun as this Marriott is pet-friendly. Rooms are equipped with everything one needs event room service provided from Toro.  A stone’s throw from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, around the corner from Denver’s iconic 80-year-old Cherry Cricket, and with never ending gallery browsing and boutique shopping out the front door, Hotel Clio is located in the center of it all.
