A New Wellness Experience Awaits in Glenwood Springs
This holistic destination is designed for recovery, restoration and healing.
Iron Mountain Hot Springs has expanded, opening The Sauna Summit with the first publicly accessible sauna and plunge pool experience in Glenwood Springs. With five new thermal features and three dedicated plunge pools, the facility addresses a gap in the region’s wellness landscape. “We feel as though we have done a really good job listening to our guests and creating the environment and experience that was lacking in the area,” says Aaron McCallister, Iron Mountain general manager.
“When we acquired Iron Mountain Hot Springs about six years ago, the goal was to create a truly outstanding wellness attraction in America. The WorldSprings expansion, completed in 2023, followed by the opening of The Sauna Summit, accomplishes that objective,” says Rob Kramer, co-founder of WorldSprings and managing partner of Off Road Capital.
While Glenwood Springs has long been renowned for its hot springs, The Sauna Summit enables guests to reap the benefits of contrast therapy firsthand. Guests can move through the property at their own pace, or they can participate in Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ guided circuits to target specific health concerns.
Featuring the most diverse sauna collection in the United States, The Sauna Summit replicates global architectural styles, varying therapeutic temperatures, and aromatherapy and chromotherapy components surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountain landscape.
Humid Heat in the steam room is inspired by the Turkish Hammam and helps promote respiratory relief, supporting skin detoxification by opening the pores. The traditional sauna, inspired by the Finnish Barrel Sauna, aids recuperation in a deep, dry heat known to support muscle recovery, boost circulation, and reduce stress.
A red-light clay sauna, with South Korean Hanjeungmak, offers radiant heat and red light to facilitate joint comfort and recovery at a cellular level. The Russian Banya-inspired sauna provides herbal infused heat that can stimulate circulation, ease muscle tension, and calm the nervous system. Finally, The Polish Salt Room-inspired sauna supports respiratory health, skin balance, and relaxation with mineral-infused air.
“Iron Mountain Hot Springs amenities include sauna-served cocktails to encourage engagement and social interaction,” says McCallister. “Two cafés on the property can be accessed by visiting, or ordering by phone on a designated app.”McCallister encourages guests to top off their experience with a visit to The Dead Sea pool. “The buoyancy of the human body within a larger expanse of water is such a unique feeling.”
