President Ford's Former Beaver Creek Home
Beaver Creek is home to some of the most expensive properties in Colorado, but this ski chalet, which was once home to 38th U.S. President Gerald Ford, hasn't had the best history on the market. While the original asking price in 2008 was set at $14.9 million, the home has just now sold—appropriately on the heels of the Fourth of July holiday—for $6.65 million.
As one of the first lots to be sold in Beaver Creek, it has amazing views and convenient ski-in, ski-out access. Take a look inside the presidential property, which is adorned with thoughtful, historical details.

The main building has 7 bedrooms, a theater, game room, private massage room, separate caterer’s kitchen, and an office.

In the entryway, a presidential seal is inlaid with granite and stone.

In the office, President Ford's floor tile was left to highlight just how often he used his favorite chair.

On the claw foot fireplace reads an engraved inscription by President John Adams, which originally came from the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House.

An adjacent pool building features President Ford's signature lap pool.
