Ann Benson Reidy: Her Favorite Things

Denver-based art curator and consultant Ann Benson Reidy shares her current favorites.

BAG:

Fausto Santini is a new favorite. I bought mine at Vertu in Cherry Creek North. Lightweight and elegant, it’s neoprene-type material mixed with leather that is perfect for carrying my laptop and iPad (vertu.net). My current crossbody handbag is by Marni and has two very accessible pockets for my keys and iPhone. Wonderful for travel! Bandolier bag, $1,400; marni.com.

CLOTHING:

Having four children, I like to have many go-to dresses that can be put on in a pinch. My new favorite designers are Christopher Kane and Andrew Gn. My old standby designers are Dries Van Noten, Pauw, The Row, and of course, J. Crew. neapolitanonline.com, lawrencecovell.com, jcrew.com.

ACCESSORY:

I usually don’t leave my house for work without a necklace or bracelet made by The Woods Fine Jewelry. Owner Shawn Hecox has built her small jewelry business into a force in the small boutique market. She’s so damn cool and fearless with her design. thewoodsfinejewelry.com.

Created by artist Ian Fisher

ARTIST:

I currently adore the strength and uniqueness of Jamie Wyeth. I also love local artists who are represented here in Denver, such as  Ian Fisher, Wendi Harford, and Derrick Velasquez. farnsworthmuseum.org, robischongallery.com

SHOES

I have loved my wildly comfortable and weatherproof Aquatalia boots for the past season. They have a short heel and can elevate the look of any outfit, be it a skirt, pant, or dress. Raine boot, $650; aquatalia.com.

FRAGRANCE:

I have to admit that I buy my fragrance from Whole Foods! A friend showed me the roll-on perfume sticks made by Pacifica, and now I keep one in my car, purse, and home for a fraction of the cost of a top-name fragrance. $12; wholefoodsmarket.com.

RESTAURANT:

The Plimoth is a gem. The high-quality food and unique drinks are matched with servers who are professional, warm, and even remember our names. My favorite dish is Cracklin’ Chicken with the Deshler cocktail. theplimoth.com.

DESIGN CRUSH:

I am focusing on local designers who are fun and easy to work with…Conni Newsome and Ashley Larson from C + A Interiors bring a unique look to any space they create. Mikhail Dantes is a contemporary designer with a neutral palette and strong sense of design. Carolyn Morris knows how to put together a room. cainteriors.net, ddinteriors.com, alvarezmorris.com.

From Topo Designs

STORE:

I have a few stores in town that I love supporting, as they are small-business owners like me. Talulah Jones is special for children’s clothing/gifts, jewelry, and cards.
I also love Topo Designs in the RiNo district—a clothing/outdoor store with unique backpacks and camping accessories. talulahonline.comtopodesigns.com
