3 Ways to Spend New Year's Eve in Colorado

Enjoy a staycation at one of Denver's most stylish hotels. Kimpton Hotel Born sits on the tracks of Denver’s Union Station on one side and 16th Street Mall on the other, putting it right in the middle of the city’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The Hotel Born New Year’s Bash will kick off on December 31 at 8:30 pm and will feature charcuterie stations, entrée stations (including a grilled-to-order Tomahawk steak carving station), live music from local Diamond Empire Band, an exclusive Whiskey Den featuring whisky flights, an outdoor ice bar featuring over 400 hand carved ice mugs, two open bars, a photobooth, Champagne toast and views of fireworks from the hotel’s terraces overlooking Union Station.

Make a night of it and book a room at the hotel with the New Year’s Eve Package including two tickets to the New Year’s Eve Bash, alpine-modern luxurious accommodations and access to Denver’s dining, art and entertainment scene just outside the door.

Head to the high country for family fun in the mountains to celebrate the new year. YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park will host its annual New Year's Eve family dance and early ball drop on December 31st, and, new this year, they will offer glow-in-the-dark rock climbing.

Family-friendly fun starts at 5:00 pm on an illuminated indoor rock climbing wall. Each guest receives glow sticks, snacks and more. After, come dressed in your best 20s inspired costumes and get ready to twist and shout at the Roaring 20s Family Dance with live music from a DJ, fun crafts for all ages, and plenty of snacks and drinks for everyone.

Bonus: all activites are free for overnight guests! YMCA of the Rockies offers additional special activities through the week including s’mores around the campfire, ice skating on a natural pond, archery, indoor rock climbing, and guided snowshoe hikes through Rocky Mountain National Park.
