I recently spent a stunning weekend at the Aspen Meadows Resort drinking in the views, the Herbert Bayer architecture and art, and the classic midcentury furniture. Thoughtful details abound, and included among them were some very cool room numbers. I have a thing for interesting house numbers, and I’m amazed at how many people pay no attention to their address; for me, the introduction, whether it’s a house or a handshake, should be strong. These new cast-iron numbers from CB2 are pleasantly bold and reasonably priced. $16 each.

Some of the best meals of my life have been at the home of Ann Taylor Pittman in Birmingham, Alabama. ART FOR THE TABLE
I saw these napkins in Gracious Home New York’s spring catalog and flipped. I can’t imagine having a bad time at a table set with these. They’re the work of Maya Roth, an L.A.-based designer who, when I called to inquire, answered her own phone. She’s as lovely as her creations, which makes them even more fun.
