Thank you, chef Nobu. Matsuhisa, the pricy rock star of sushi restaurants, is now in Cherry Creek less than a mile from my house, beckoning me (and my children) every night. The beautiful Japanese-inspired, dark-wood dining room is elegant and sleek, the superfresh sushi is flown in daily, and the starters are sublime. Our family standbys: Spicy Tuna with Crispy Rice; Nobu Tacos with Lobster; Black Cod Lettuce Cup; Yellowtail Jalapeño; Baby Spinach Salad with Grilled Shrimp and Truffle Yuzu; and the Rock Shrimp or King Crab Tempura. Yes, we still love Denver staples Sushi Den, Sushi Sasa and Sushi Ronin, but Matsuhisa’s new location brings the Nobu magic local.
