The New Greige by Bobbi Brown
What does Bobbi Brown’s new cosmetics collection have to do with home design?
A new season offers a fresh start, with a new wardrobe, new holidays to look forward to, and maybe even new make-up? This September, make-up maven Bobbi Brown is releasing a new line just in time for fall. The collection, called Greige, was inspired by a color combination Brown created while mixing grey and brown paint for a home project.
The home design market is no stranger to make-up brands (OPI recently teamed up with Clark+Kensington to create a line of nail polish-inspired wall paints), but usually it is the make-up inspiring the decor, and not the other way around. And while Brown didn’t invent the color “greige,” which is becoming increasingly popular in home design, she is taking advantage of its potential as a unique neutral.
For Brown, the appeal of the color lies in its versatility: “I love the color you can create by mixing grey and beige—it’s the perfect neutral for subtle to statement making looks.”

The centerpiece of the collection is the eye palette (above), which combines Bobbi’s favorite grey and beige-toned shadows with a range of new shades, such as Greige and Earth Metal eye shadows. The collection also includes two new shades of nail polish, a matte, Greige and a metallic, Smokey Topaz.

The intense pigment eyeliners (above) add a burst of color to the collection, with offerings in Black Plum, Forest and Midnight. The eyeliners, which are made from pure pigments, without fillers or binders, can be applied smoothly for a precise line, or blended and smudged for a smokey eye.
The Greige collection follows Bobbi Brown’s summer line, The Telluride Collection, “inspired by the late afternoon sun” in the Colorado mountain town.
