The Doors Open Denver 2017 Lineup
The 13th annual Doors Open Denver, the premier event showcasing Denver architecture and urban design, will take place on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30. Presented by the Denver Architectural Foundation, the event highlights nearly 70 of Denver’s unique spaces and offers more than 50 unique Insider Tours.
Headquartered at the iconic Denver Union Station, the event will feature high-profile, historic and artistic feats of architecture and design.
“We’re excited by the growth of the event over the past couple of years, and the addition of architecturally inspired arts and culture activities for our patrons,” says Pauline Herrera Serianni, Executive Director of the Denver Architectural Foundation. “We hope residents and visitors alike will take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to explore our great city, create meaningful connections to the built environment and grow their appreciation for Denver’s excellent art and artists.”
Six buildings that have never been part of Doors Open Denver join the site lineup this year, including Page Architects (The John Deere Building), St. Paul Lutheran and Roman Catholic Community of Faith, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Smiley Branch Library, Athmar Park Branch Library and Pauline Robinson Branch Library. These sites are part of the list of 69 sites that are free to explore.
Doors Open Denver also offers ticketed Insider Tours that provide engaging opportunities to hear directly from experts about Denver structures and locales significant to our city’s history, development, design and future. Architects, landscape architects, historians and urban enthusiasts lead the Insider Tours. Twenty-four of the 51 Insider Tours are new to Doors Open Denver.

With the support of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Doors Open Denver is proud to present "Building Behavior," six arts and culture experiences at unique architectural locations in Denver. Curated by Cortney Lane Stell, some of these experiences include an art exhibition at the historic Castle Marne Bed & Breakfast and experimental music responses to the DPAC’s Galleria by internationally recognized synth musicians.
The complete list of sites and Insider Tours is now available on the Doors Open Denver website at www.doorsopendenver.com. Information on arts and culture activities will be added soon, and the website will be updated continuously through event weekend. Insider Tour tickets may be purchased for $10 online starting April 3 for Denver Architectural Foundation members and April 17 for the public. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Denver Architectural Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
