Today’s good news includes meditating, drinking wine, supporting local businesses and retail therapy. These are all things that we can do on any scale that feels right and here, I’m sharing some inbox highlights of the day.

Headspace is now offering 30 % off a one-year subscription. For the next few months they are also offering a FREE section in the app called “Weathering The Storm,” that includes meditation, sleep and movement exercises designed to guide you through the current turbulence.

I learned about this brilliant company while listening to the podcast “How I Built This.” You might think I started meditating daily for ten minutes because I was seeking calm and yes, there’s that, but I also just love listening to the soothing tones of this British guy’s voice whispering to me. I suck at being still and I really suck at getting my brain to slow down and this app really helps with that. So I highly recommend it if you are seeking a bit of calm or a mad affair with a British guy without even cheating the slightest bit.

Costco sells an amazing bottle of Chianti Classico that’s $10.99. My husband is a big food and wine guy and I reap the benefits. It’s hard to understate the magnitude of good fortune to have a man who loves to cook. He insists I have a great palate for wine. I don’t believe him but I’m happy to keep drinking and when we discovered Colorado’s sole Costco with alcohol in Gypsum recently, the stash benefited.

Retail Therapy is real, Part 1. For me at least. And there are ways to support your local businesses by buying gift cards (I just purchased two from BLOOM by Anuschka in Cherry Creek by phone to give to friends), or ordering staples like coffee that are available for pickup (our local Louisville bakery, Moxie Bread Co., is delivering in town and also has a space where folks can pick up take-out orders as well as selling things like heirloom wheat and honey). Another personal favorite of mine, Denver’s Q House is cooking up its deliciousness for take-out. It’s my favorite Asian food in Colorado (and I take food seriously!!).

Retail Therapy is real, Part 2. The market is insane right now so lots of us are holding back on spending BUT if you do have the ability to put money into the economy, there are deals worth noting. A number of great design spots are having major sales including Schoolhouse (up to 70% off) and I’m including some faves here.

I have it in black and blue and every time I wear it, my friends comment—in a good way.
