Tara Donovan at MCA Denver
The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver’s latest exhibition, Tara Donovan: Fieldwork, is a mind-blowing, jaw-dropping showcase of wonder. Donovan, a Brooklyn-based artist, is known for combining and transforming mundane materials—Mylar, index cards, straws, dress pins, tar paper, even Slinkys—into spellbinding patterns and gigantic sculptural fantasies.

“Tara Donovan is like a magician, there’s no other way to describe it,” says Adam Lerner, Mark G. Falcone Director and Chief Animator at MCA Denver. “She takes straws, cups, and paper plates beyond a boundary that no one else can even see.” Large-scale installations of Donovan’s work, including old and new pieces spanning two decades of her career, fill every one of the museum’s galleries with wild new surprises to discover.

The exhibition, Tara Donovan: Fieldwork, runs from September 22, 2018 – January 27, 2019.
