Swoon-Worthy Turkish Towels
KASSATEX FOUTA TURKISH COTTON TOWEL, $36.99; bedbathandbeyond.com
I’ve been on the edge of the artisan-towel trend for a while now, buying Turkish hand towels for my kitchen and powder room at Bloom (Denver) and Cedar & Hyde (Boulder). I’m finally ready to make the leap to bath towels this spring and ditch the bulky terrycloth towels hogging up space in my linen closet. Turkish towels (aka fouta or peshtemal) are thick, woven cotton sheets that are just as absorbent, plus they can tie around my body more easily than a regular towel. They can be used as beach towels, picnic blankets or a wrap; they’re fun to store rolled up; and they dry quickly. I’m going to buy a couple extra for yoga class and travel.
