Primo Sushi in RiNo
Uchi comes to Denver
I had already eaten at the original Uchi outpost in Austin, and I’m thrilled to report that its first non-Texas locale, in RiNo’s Curtis Park neighborhood, is a must.
The décor is contemporary Japanese, and the space is bustling. My favorite bites include: Uchi Salad (you pick up little bundles of daikon and baby greens and dip them in the cashew-pesto dressing), Machi Cure, Mapo Dofu, Walu Walu, Karaage and Lamb Shoulder.
The sushi and sashimi are seasoned perfectly and then presented with garnishes from a hydroponic greenhouse atop the restaurant’s roof. And although I’m not a dessert person, I ate every last bite of the Jasmine Cream, with cilantro granita, pineapple and honey crumble. 2500 Lawrence Street, Denver.
