Shaken or stirred? If you want to learn the difference, or find out firsthand how to mix a festive cocktail, head to The Way Back, a swanky new restaurant/bar in the Berkeley neighborhood that hosts private cocktail classes. 

There, partner Chad Michael George and his bar team will teach the techniques while attendees sip on three specialty drinks, paired with small bites from chef Jon Lavelle. Classes are $40 per person, and each student receives 10 percent off their food-and-drink bill that same day or night.
