In Their Element: Brent and Terri Simon
Colorado Style Home Furnishings
“I sold my first piece when I was 12 years old,” says Brent Simon, a fifth-generation furniture purveyor and co-owner (with his mom, Terri) of Colorado Style Home Furnishings in Highlands Ranch. The piece, a solid oak draw-leaf table from England, sold for $798. It took Brent a bit longer to achieve full-on partner status, but since 1997 the mother-and-son furniture mavens have been traveling the world—from Spain to Scotland, Italy to Indonesia—trolling for an eclectic mix of fine furniture. “We create a treasure hunt of design inspiration for our clients,” says Terri of Colorado Style’s 60,000 square feet of showroom space.
“Our customers return again and again as they upgrade their homes, buy a second home in the mountains, finish their basements, or redecorate,” adds Brent. And because their inventory is so massive and fluid, shoppers can pick almost anything right off the showroom floor and take it home that day. Says Brent, “It’s great for immediate gratification.”
