East-West Mountain Decor
Shop at Salt Creek Home in Edwards
I never expected to find a bohemian home-decor store in the Vail Valley, but that’s exactly what I stumbled into at Salt Creek Home, a new-ish outpost in the Edwards Village Boulevard shopping area (next to my favorite sushi spot, Sato).
Owner Lauren Hauser opened the shop a year-and-a-half ago, with an eclectic mix of artwork and furniture that blends East Coast charm with a laid-back West Coast essence. “It’s not your typical Colorado mountain style, but you don’t need to be stuck with that traditional, heavy vibe anymore,” says Hauser, whose family owns surf shops on the East Coast. What might be seen as a risky order of beach-y items for the landlocked shop paid off—Hauser has had to restock ocean-themed artwork several times because it keeps selling out.
The gallery-style showroom also features large-scale basket lighting, John Robshaw bedding, Dash & Albert rugs, and K. Hall candles.
