Big congratulazioni to Boulder’s Frasca restaurant, which was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurant this past spring, followed by last month’s launch of the eatery’s first cookbook, Friuli Food and Wine (Ten Speed, 2020; $50, hardcover).

The book—by chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, sommelier Bobby Stuckey, and food and travel writer Meredith Erickson— features 80 recipes from the northeast Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, home to one of Europe’s most refined food and wine cultures and the inspiration behind Frasca’s menu.

Recipes are organized by Land, Sea and Mountain chapters, complete with wine pairings and gorgeous photos of the area and the dishes.

If you enjoy the food at any of the group’s four restaurants—Frasca, Tavernetta, Pizzeria Locale or Sunday Vinyl— this cookbook is a must-have.
