Comforting Asian Street Food in Colorado

Favorite ramen spots around the state

Snowy Colorado afternoons are made for steaming-hot bowls of ramen. Among the Denver-based spots that have raised the bar for Japanese noodle soup are Uncle, Domo, Izakaya Den, Tokio, Tengu, and Bones, as well as Katsu Ramen in Aurora and Sushi Tora in Boulder.

New kid on the block Osaka Ramen is Jeff Osaka’s approach to comforting Asian street food. In addition to five ramen variations and five bento box varieties, the menu includes fabulous small plates. Don’t miss the Chicken Kara Age (marinated fried chicken bites with spicy mayo), chilled tofu with bonito flakes, Tamago Gohan (a crispy rice cake), and chilled green beans with shoyu-sesame dressing. Dessert? My Wife’s Donuts (mochi donuts, kinako sugar, and salted butter).
