Camping in the Clouds

Stay at the rustic and secluded Cloud Camp

To truly get away from it all, head to Cloud Camp, an all-inclusive lodge 3,000 feet atop Cheyenne Mountain. It’s rustic and secluded but includes all the five-star elements of its parent hotel, The Broadmoor. Much better views, too. Opened in late 2014 to further the resort’s “Wilderness Experience,” Cloud Camp is a Western-themed mountain lodge seven miles up from its swanky counterpart in Colorado Springs, with a capacity of 60 guests in log cabins and the main lodge, all designed by Johnson David Interiors.

Guests can hike through Pike National Forest or partake in archery, yoga, disc golf and the not-to-miss signature nightly Cooking Club. Although guests may access Cloud Camp by Cadillac Escalade or mule (yes, really), I think the three-hour hike up would be most rewarding. All lodging, meals and activities are included, starting at $875 per night.
