Behind the Scenes with Tieghan Gerard
We spent the day with the Half Baked Harvest blogger, filming, eating, laughing, and playing with goats
After featuring Half Baked Harvest blogger Tieghan Gerard’s beautiful log barn home in our Sept/Oct 2015 issue, the Colorado Homes & Lifestyles staff trekked to Summit County to film a home tour and step-by-step recipe video with the 21-year-old talent. We spent the day in the Colorado countryside, filming, eating, laughing, and playing with goats—all in a day’s work. Here, a behind-the-scenes look at our field trip.

Our office for the day—Tieghan’s horsebarn-turned-home with sweeping views of Silverthorne's mountains.

CH&L Editor in Chief Kate Meyers and Tieghan take a photo break while preparing Kouign Amann and fresh fruit for the crew to snack on.
In between shots, we got some playtime with the Gerard family’s three goats—Tiramisu, Lala, and Mara. Here, Tieghan attempts to lure Lala back in her pen with a measuring cup full of food.
Tieghan shows us her spacious pantry, complete with a Beauty and the Beast-inspired sliding ladder and a stock of standby ingredients.
Tieghan prepared us a feast for lunch including a spread of cheeses, croissant sandwiches, and the best gumbo we’ve ever tasted.
Tieghan’s adorable 7-year-old sister, Asher, who told us all about her dreams of being a veterinarian and her affinity for big cats.

Digital Editor Vanessa Richetti and Vice President of Integrated Media Sarah Frazier film Tieghan as she prepares a CH&L-exclusive recipe—Baked Pumpkin Buttermilk Doughnuts with a Hot Cocoa Glaze. The recipe included an egg that was laid by one of the Gerard family’s hens that morning.
The finished product, which we happily devoured. Needless to say, a food coma set in during the drive home.
