Aurora Animal Shelter Receives Makeover From ASID

The Aurora Animal Shelter recently teamed up with ASID Colorado to bring new life to its cat colony room and other spaces. ASID Colorado professionals Lynn Williamson and Eva Puterbaugh mentored members of the Arapahoe Community College student chapterKrista Reese, Eden Cohen, Derek Reiff, and Erin O'Brienon their mission to give the animal shelter a face-lift.

The green room, designed by the student group, is a lively visitation area where people can spend some one-on-one time with a dog or cat outs of its kennel, away from other animals. This give the prospective pet parents better insight into the animal's personality.

Lynn and Eva gave the cat colony room a makeover, including plenty of fun nooks and crannies for the felines to explore and climb. June is the Aurora Animal Shelter's "Adopt a Cat" month, and now these cats are awaiting their new homes in style!

Shelter mascots Merlin (gray and white) and Gus (orange tabby) definitely approve of the updates.
