ASID & Sherwin-Williams Colormix Forecast 2019
An inside look at upcoming color trends for the new year
285 people eagerly gathered at the Denver Art Museum on Oct 25 for a trade-only gala with residential designers, architects, and custom homebuilders to unveil the most in vogue color palette for 2019.
The master ensemble of pigments is comprised of 42 different shades, and ranges from whimsical pinks, reds and greens, to soothing light blues, taupes, and neutral colors.
However, 16-year Sherwin-Williams veteran and ASID Colorado President-Elect, Christie Del Ciotto, decided it was time to mix things up when presenting the newest predictions at this year’s celebration of color.
“For the first time this year we added personalities to the colors. This color journal concept allows designers to better navigate the use of this forecast,” Del Ciotto said.

The 42 colors were then broken down into six groups with unique characteristics and traits to make the colors more easily identifiable by personality. The six groups presented by Del Ciotto were comprised of: The cosmos-inspired Shapeshifter, the earth-toned Wanderer, the polished Aficionado, the vibrant Enthusiast, the botanical Naturalist, and the global Raconteur.
Past ASID President, Lynn Coit of Elsy Studios, opened up the presentation, followed by sponsor and founder of Designs by Sundown, Michael Hommel. The Colormix presentation also featured custom artwork from native artist, Julie Janney with Jules Art and Design. The evening was concluded with an hour full of networking and hors d'oeuvres for guests.
Colorado Homes & Lifestyles proudly sponsored the event that filled us with colorful inspiration and re-decorating possibilities for homes across the Front Range.
