An Ideal Pairing
Casual chic for the office and beyond
Two must-have classics: a blazer and a pair of poppy shoes. These staples can make any outfit sing, withstand the test of time and allow for mix-and-match with what’s already in your closet.
Now, this may seem pretty basic – but when you incorporate pieces like gold coin necklaces, a scalloped neckline or even embroidery details, it quickly elevates a pair of jeans and a top to a reflection of your personality.
I gravitate toward unstructured blazers because they make me feel more put together and comfortable. Whether it’s a Scottish plaid, hot pink or vertical pinstripes, the diversity of this lightweight coat keeps the outfit feeling new and effortlessly chic.
Here I paired this striped, tan and white coat with a scalloped black camisole, gold coin necklaces and embroidered frayed jeans. The addition of the blazer elevates the professionalism (and my confidence) much more than a knit cardigan would.
While I’m wearing simple, neutral colors, I love shoes that are an exclamation point of the whole look. The lively orange initially drew me in, but the square buckle detail sold me. Accompanied by a timeless pointed toe and price tag under $60, this mule makes the whole ensemble look more expensive without breaking the bank.
