Al Fresco Treasure Hunting

Here are my favorite markets, offering more handmade artisan goods than vintage wares

Al fresco treasure hunting has geared up at several flea markets around the state, including pop-ups in Denver, Boulder, Longmont, Fort Collins, Pueblo and Trinidad. Offering more handmade artisan goods than vintage wares, my favorite markets are Horseshoe in the Highlands, Firefly in Boulder and Denver Flea. Among the wide variety of crafty artisans, I especially like Two Little Fruits, maker of crazy-cool magnets and irreverent wood-backed art. You’ll also find letterpress stationery, cute tea towels and aprons, and exquisite ceramics in every shape and color, plus jams, pickles, pierogis and other delectable treats.

Mark your calendar for the next Horseshoe market on October 1, 2016—it’s like Etsy in real life. Haggle nicely and bring cash.
