A Recap of the Inaugural CherryArts at Stanley
Thousands of eager attendees who spent this beautiful autumn weekend immersed in art, music, and good food
The inaugural CherryArts Festival at Stanley was greeted with sunshine and thousands of eager attendees who spent this beautiful autumn weekend immersed in art, music, and good food. The festival, which took place on October 23, 24, and 25 at Stanley Marketplace, featured 80 exhibitors and artists, live music and vendors selling delicious food.
"This past weekend, the CherryArts Festival at Stanley brought the Aurora, Stapleton, and Denver communities together to engage with art experiences," said Chris Stevens, president and CEO of CherryArts. "Individuals of all ages viewed art from 75 juried artists, created art in the art shack, discovered Jen Lewin's interactive sculpture, sampled food from Stanley businesses, and enjoyed a day of artistically-inspired fun."
More than 800 VIP guests bought tickets to attend the Grand Tasting on Friday evening, which featured future Stanley Marketplace restaurants and samples from future vendors. The premiere night of the festival also provided ticketed attendees with the first look at the featured artists and their work. This lovely evening was topped off with an open bar of sponsored beverages and music played by Winehouse, an Amy Winehouse tribute band.
Saturday and Sunday festivities invited folks of all ages to experience the wonders of art and culture with free admission to the entire facility and programming. Artists and vendors selling paintings, clothing, jewelry, ceramics and pottery were set up in outdoor tents and inside the soon-to-be repurposed hangar. The Kids Art Shack provided space and tools to unleash your child’s creativity and imagination.
"Throughout the weekend, attendance for the Festival reached nearly 10,000, as the first large-scale event at Stanley Marketplace." said Stevens. "We are pleased with the outpouring of community interest and look forward to partnering with Stanley in the future."
The culinary demonstrations at the Colorado Homes & Lifestyles kitchen, presented by Specialty Appliance and Dacor, attracted plenty of festival-goers who watched these renowned chefs exhibit their culinary talents and share some cooking wisdom. From matzoh ball soup and steaming corned beef to a caramel mocha s’more tart, these chefs cooked up delectable eats that were shared with and savored by audience members.
It was a beautiful weekend of indoor and outdoor activities and experiences that celebrated national art, local flavor and creative living! And make sure you come back for more celebration at the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival, every July!
