A Fisherman’s Dream Retreat in Telluride

Photos: Robert Sinclair

Just 30 minutes away from the shops and ski slopes of Telluride sits Cascabel, an extraordinary compound that includes some of the most coveted private trout waters in southwestern Colorado.

Almost 30 years ago, the owners imagined an expansive family retreat that could also double as a private fishing club. And with the help of Denver architect Peter Dominick who designed most of the Norwood property’s buildings, Cascabel was born.

The estate, which is surrounded by national forests and secluded by high canyon walls, spans over 318 acres of the San Miguel Valley and runs along three miles of the San Miguel River (both banks).

The property includes two custom homes, four guest cabins, and a clubhouse equipped with a chef’s kitchen and a dining room fit for 30 people.

Take a look at the retreat below.
