A Celebration of Creativity

A peek into The Fabulous issue and a few things I'm loving right now

I am excited to show off the homes and celebratory creativity of three women I’ve been lucky to become friends with through my work at CH&L. Anuschka Pashel has been a force of great design in Colorado since she first began creating floral displays in 1999 out of a Denver garage. She now has two thriving floral boutiques, Bloom by Anuschka in Cherry Creek and Union Station. There’s a reason for her success: She has a fabulous eye and a wonderful sense of composition and style. She’s also a lovely person.

In this issue, we share Anuschka’s suburban home, as well as her thoughts on creating floral displays and setting your holiday table. When it comes to holiday gatherings, nobody does it better than Sam Robinson and Erica McNeish. These pals have been hosting Denver’s classiest cookie party for 15 years.  We offer a gander at the way they pull together a soiree. Added bonus: a peek around Sam’s house, with her treasure trove of Americana.

In this year’s gift guide, we decided to focus on goods created here in Colorado. We are thrilled to support the wonderful makers who’ve chosen to do their work here. Included on this list is Pete Wagner, founder and CEO of Wagner Custom Skis in Telluride. As with all his clients, Pete let me design my own boards

Cheers—and a wonderful holiday season to all!

What I'm Loving

Artifact Uprising has been producing photo-related gifts from their Denver base since 2013. Think stunning calendars, photo books, and all manner of clever ways to exhibit and rotate your favorite pics. They also offer a variety of gallery frames, including this one in maple. Now I can forever remember the day in 2016 when I talked a rather happy group of New Zealand Santas into posing with me! Gallery Frames start at $69; artifactuprising.com.

Angela Harris—Colorado designer, entrepreneur, CH&L Circle of Excellence Winner and founder of TRIO—has just added a furniture line to her long list of accomplishments. In partnership with the Phillips Collection, Harris has created 36 sleek, elegant pieces, including stainless-steel dining tables, club chairs and brass-based sofas. Her Ladder Slant Arm Chair, above, is a personal fave. View the entire line at coloradohomesmag.com/angelaharris or phillipscollection.com.

Corey Strohmeyer’s gift bags. Corey sprinkles creative magic over whatever she takes on (including her recently renovated Boulder home, which we’ll be showcasing in our Jan.Feb issue). These bags come in six sizes, from 6 x 9 inches all the way to the extra-large 21 x 28 inches. They’re made of quilt-weight cotton and come in 30 different prints, from holiday to just plain beautiful. Even better, you can eliminate gift wrap from the family shopping list.
