A Local Treasure: Catch the Final Shows of the Summer Concert Series
The Denver Botanic Gardens hosts a talented group of musicians before summer's end.
Open-air music is a summer standard in Colorado, known for astoundingly beautiful venues from Vail’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre to Red Rocks to the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in NoCo’s Poudre Canyon. Equally popular but surprisingly located in the heart of urban Denver is the Botanic Gardens Summer Concert Series, a magical musical oasis beloved by guests and performers alike.
Now in its 45th year and expanded to 14 concert dates, the otherworldly performances in the round offer a lush setting, soft summer air, layered sunsets, a mellow multigenerational crowd and the rare grace note of bring-your-own picnics, cocktails and wine. The fine-tuned lineup, through the Gardens’ partnership with venerable Swallow Hill Music, includes newcomers Soccer Mommy and Allen Stone, joining returning favorites like Judy Collins—a Denver East High School grad. Pro tip: Folding chairs are (strictly) limited to 28” upright height.
Denver Botanic Gardens Summer Concert Series, 1007 York St.; 6:30-10 p.m.; advance ticket sales only, $85-$106 for nonmembers (discounted for members); presented by UMB.
