An Evening to Remember: Make-A-Wish Colorado Celebrates 9-Year-Old Wish Hero
The annual event brings together community, compassion and a powerful tribute to one remarkable child whose wish continues to inspire.
Make-A-Wish Colorado will hold its third annual Whiskey, Wine & Wishes event on Thursday, April 24th at Mission Ballroom. Presented by Chevron, this fun celebration is country western themed and includes food, drinks, silent and live auctions and a live music performance by country artist Walker Montgomery.
During the program, Make-A-Wish will present its third Wish Hero award, which honors an organization or individual that has provided extraordinary support for the nonprofit. This year’s Wish Hero award recipient is 9-year-old Conrad, who is being celebrated for his incredible fundraising efforts in honor of his sister Pippa’s, whose wish to go to Walt Disney World Resorts was granted by Make-A-Wish Colorado in 2022.
Conrad was so inspired by the impact Pippa’s wish had on his entire family that he decided to host a rock-climbing fundraiser called “Rad’s Climb for Wishes,” to benefit Make-A-Wish Colorado.
He hoped to summit 40 routes and raise $10,000, but he ended up climbing 70 routes and raising more than $70,000 for Make-A-Wish Colorado. Sadly, Pippa passed shortly after Conrad’s fundraiser, but he continued to raise funds in her memory to support creating more wishes for families like theirs. So far, he has helped grant more than nine life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Conrad is being celebrated as the 2025 Make-A-Wish Colorado Wish Hero for his commitment to making a positive impact on others in honor of his sister, Pippa, and bringing joy to kids just like her.
Since beginning in 1983, Make-A-Wish Colorado has granted wishes to more than 6,700 children with critical illnesses across the state. Currently more children than ever are waiting for a wish from Make-A-Wish Colorado. Events like Whiskey, Wine & Wishes as well as individual and corporate support will enable Make-A-Wish Colorado to grant these wishes as quickly as possible. Research shows that wishes are an important part of a child’s health care journey and can provide the hope and strength needed to fight a critical illness.
