Bella Diva World Dance Presents Its Newest Halloween Thriller at the Oriental Theater this October

It’s spooky season and the Boo-la Divas are back with another Halloween show thriller!
Bella Diva World Dance is an international dance studio and performing company that brings the art of movement, culture, and global dance to locals throughout the Denver area. No matter one’s size, age, background, or orientation, they believe dance is for everyBODY.

Caitlin Brozna-Smith – Artistic Director and Founder of Bella Diva World Dance – sat down with CH&L to chat about the studio and company’s highly anticipated Halloween show, the Resurrection Of The Dancing Dead. It debuts on October 29th at 7 PM at the Oriental Theatre and is Bella Diva World Dance’s newest rendition of its longtime fan favorite performance, Night of the Dancing Dead.
Show-goers are encouraged to dress their best for their annual costume contest to win prizes – including Bella Diva World Dance classes, massage gift certificates, couture halloween jewelry and more – during the show. Here’s the scoop.

How did the Night of the Dancing Dead show begin?
Caitlin Brozna-Smith: The show began in 2011 at Lanie’s Clocktower Cabaret with a cast of 11. [Now] we’re a cast of 30, with dancers from over 12 countries!
Why do you think this show is a fan favorite every year?
CBS: It really is the magic that occurs when our entire cast is transformed into the “dancing dead”. To the point that our fans can’t even recognize who each of us are because we are so unrecognizable. Fans also love the nostalgia from some of our pieces like Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice and Thriller to name a few!

What goes into producing a show of this caliber?
CBS: Hours and hours of rehearsal, costume creation, photo shoots for marketing, video editing and creation for our digital numbers and backing videos. Kyle Kastner – our show’s co-producer – is the mastermind behind all the videography and special effects. We have the most amazing production team and performers.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
CBS: We really hope to reach new audiences at our new home at the Oriental Theatre and share our love and passion for all things fantastical and Halloween!
