Eat + Drink + Give to Support the Arts in Crested Butte
The Wine + Food Festival is an annual fundraiser for the Center for the Arts
The 2023 Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival provides an opportunity to sip, eat and socialize for a good cause. This year’s festival will be held July 19-23 and supports the area’s premier visual and performing arts venue. For 35 years, the Center for the Arts has offered cultural experiences that connect, engage, and inspire. This summer tradition brings passionate hospitality professionals, culinary stars, celebrated winemakers, award-winning beverage experts, and fearless foodies to Crested Butte. The partnership of winemakers and sommeliers, chefs and culinary experts, wine distributors, nonprofit community partners, artists and performers, and generous sponsors help make this annual event possible.
Packed with a robust and diverse schedule, this year’s festival participants will have the opportunity to attend winemaker dinners. These multi-course meals are prepared by Colorado’s best chefs and paired with boutique and elite wines selected to complement the menu. For wine connoisseurs and novices alike, a series of lively wine seminars offer an engaging and diverse educational experience. Hikes led by Certified Herbalist, Amanda Ellis in and around Crested Butte treats visitors as they explore the beauty of the terrain while learning about the abundance of edible and medicinal botanicals that grow wild. The ever-popular Grand Tasting is where guests can sip and swirl their way through an array of wines, beers, and spirits at the VIP + Industry Hour, and The Center Arts immersive gala features star chefs and delicious wines.
New to this year’s event are foodie seminars led by chefs and other experts designed to sharpen attendees’ culinary skills, while teaching the tricks to achieving heightened flavor during food preparation. Additionally, the inaugural Steddy Award will be presented at this year’s Center Gala. Named for the Center’s Steddy Theater, a gift from the Stanley H. and Theodora L. Feldberg Foundation, this award will be presented annually to someone who embodies the Center’s mission of enriching community through the arts and culture. The Center will honor the Feldberg family at this year’s gala.
Whether you’re a first-time attendee, or a regular, this year’s festival offers a chance to escape the city, bask in Crested Butte’s natural beauty, and indulge your appetite for great wine and food for a worthy cause.
