Where To Recycle Your Paint

Get rid of your unwanted paint in an environmentally responsible way + an upcoming paint recycling event in Denver

Summer is the season for painting projects, and we're here to help guide you on those pesky "now what?" steps. Not sure what to do with your leftover paint but want to make sure it's taken care of in an environmentally responsible way?

PaintCare offers over 170 drop-off locations throughout Colorado. Recycling your paint is free and many of the drop-off locations conveniently include paint and hardware stores near you.

The PaintCare program has collected and processed more than 2.37 million gallons of paint for recycling since it began in 2015. In 2018, Coloradoans recycled more than 650,000 gallons of paint in Colorado. This effort helps ensure leftover paint is managed responsibly to divert it from the waste stream and better protect the environment.

UPCOMING PAINT RECYCLING EVENT

Households and businesses (painting contractors, property managers, etc.) can drop off their unwanted paint at the event. The following products will be accepted: house paint, stains, primers, sealers, and clear top coatings (varnish and shellac). Households may bring any amount of latex or oil-based paint to the events, but there are restrictions on oil-based paint for some businesses.
