Prominent German rug designer makes a stop at RiNo’s Artisan Rug Gallery
Classic, bohemian, contemporary or eclectic: a rug is a reflection of personal style that can pull an entire design space together.
For Jeff Deutsch, this concept and a simple trip to Ecuador in 1990 fueled the design objective behind River North’s Artisan Rug Gallery. After absorbing global perspectives through traveling, the gallery’s mission to convey these styles in their boutique is abundantly clear.
With a vast inventory displaying influences hand-picked from international markets like Central America to the Middle East, the gallery offers a multitude of artisanal carpets for any design taste.
To uphold their promise on delivering unique interior decorating perspectives, the Denver-based Gallery hosted German designer and creator of Rug Star, Jürgen Dahlmanns, to debut some of his new works at the Artisan Rug Gallery event on March 6.
Hand-knotted carpeting – Dahlmanns' specialty – is a top of the line weaving method due to the precision and attention to detail it requires. The age-old procedure was revamped with unique imagery on display at the gallery, pulling inspiration from botany to a spilled glass of black currant juice on the different carpets.
The showroom illustrated his uses of bright vibrant colors through handwoven mastery– and confirmed why he is dubbed ‘The Rug Star’.
Denverites got the chance to witness these pieces up close and interact with the Rug Star himself during the showroom while enjoying a cocktail hour and bites.
