It’s a Colorado Christmas on Shark Tank!

Matthew Bliss, creator of The Modern Christmas Tree, will pitch his venture to the sharks this Sunday, December 3

Two Decembers ago, we shared a story about the iconic Sleeper House all decked out for the holidays.

The home—formally known as the Sculptural House—is a visual rite of passage for Coloradans and visitors alike, as they make the trip up 1-70 from Denver to the mountains.

Matthew Bliss, creator of The Modern Christmas Tree, grew up noticing the Sleeper House on the way to family ski adventures, and was thrilled to outfit the home in 2015 with his lightweight-acrylic, A-frame Christmas trees for a noble cause. A portion of every tree sale went to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America—a cause close to home. Bliss created The Modern Christmas Tree company in tribute to his late grandfather, Lawrence “Bud” Stoecker, who was an architect and engineer before battling Alzheimer’s later in life.

“Grandpa Bud,” as he is called, specialized in building A-frame homes in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and is the original designer behind the Modern Christmas Tree. Bliss continues the legacy and pays homage to Bud's passion by updating the design and making the trees available to homes looking to enliven their modern decor for the holidays.

Now Bliss is bringing his trees to the tank—Shark Tank, that is—the critically acclaimed and multi-Emmy® Award-winning reality show that has reinvigorated entrepreneurship in America. Tune in to Episode 910 to see his how pitch fares and whether or not the sharks will bite.

Episode 910 airs on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 9:00 – 10:00 pm EST (that’s 7:00 pm for us in the mountains!) on ABC.
