Dali Alive is described as a completely immersive art experience engaging the viewer’s sense of sight, sound, touch and smell. Grand Experiences’ head of commercial operations – Americas, Jeff Cornelius, explains that the exhibit will operate a system that projects images from the walls and floor using 124 million pixels. “Every square inch of the floor is used for projection,” he notes. Spatial audio with 25 separate speakers will create “surround sound on steroids,” and aromatic activation will produce very subtle scents to help cement memories of the experience in the minds of visitors.

Attendees can look forward to a display of Dali’s lobster phones and a deep dive into his comprehensive collection of work. A hands-on interactive area will allow guests to connect with the art in a personal way. Interpretive panels will provide information about Salvador Dali for those who are interested in learning more about the artist and the man.
Cornelius says that a resurgence of interest in Dali is likely attributable to several factors. “Post-pandemic, we have seen our in-person networks begin to come apart,” he says. People have become more isolated than they were before and are anxious to get out and connect with experiences in the company of others.” He further explains that “while Dali was alive, his life was performance art that often overshadowed his work. Now that we are a couple of generations distanced from his death, his artwork can be seen for what it really is, and Dali can be appreciated for the truly creative genius he was.”

A long-term lease has enabled a partnership between The Stanley Marketplace, Grande Experiences and The Lume to become home to The Lume Colorado, a permanent digital art gallery. With 13,000 square feet of exhibit space, the gallery offers immersive, awe-inspiring adventures in art. With only three worldwide locations—Indianapolis, Colorado and the flagship location in Melbourne—the multi-year partnership with The Stanly Marketplace will ensure that a touring, immersive selection of art exhibitions will attract art lovers from the metro area and throughout Colorado.
