Authentic Latin Cuisine Coming to a Luxury Denver Hotel

Located at the heart of Denver’s upscale shopping and dining destination–Cherry Creek North–is JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek, a beloved gathering place for Denver locals and visitors since its opening in 2004.

The luxury hotel is amidst a multi-million dollar renovation that will see its public spaces, guest rooms, lobby, and meeting spaces completely revamped. The debut, slated for late 2020, will also bring a new dining concept–Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge.

Toro is a Richard Sandoval Hospitality concept, and as the acclaimed Mexican-born chef currently resides in Denver, we’re no stranger to his cuisine. The Latin restaurant group successfully owns and operates more than 45 concepts around the globe. In fact, JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek’s Toro is the sixth Sandoval concept in Colorado.

Helmed by Executive Chef Oscar Padilla, Toro will spotlight Sandoval’s signature “made from scratch” approach and passion for Latin cuisine. Inspired by the world, Chef Sandoval’s concepts combine authentic Latin ingredients with international flavors and inventive techniques for an unparalleled culinary experience, resulting in inimitable Pan-Latin dishes.

Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge will feature menu items unique to the location, including a ceviche bar. The beverage program will feature forward-thinking cocktails that are carefully crafted with fresh fruits, house-made infusions and Latin twist on classics. The menu is Latin spirits-driven with a focus on rums, cachaças, tequilas, mezcals, and pisco. It will also showcase locally distilled spirits, Latin and local brews, and a Latin-dominant wine program.

“The city of Denver means a lot to me as it is where I have established roots both personally and professionally over the past 18 years. I am honored to grow my portfolio and bring vibrant flavors and the convivial Latin dining culture to the Cherry Creek neighborhood, ” said Sandoval.

Following its opening in 2004, JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek quickly became an integral part of the neighborhood. As the only luxury hotel in Cherry Creek, it has served as a hub for travelers and a meeting place for locals to dine, unwind and socialize. The current renovation and impending relaunch celebrate its evolution, and speak to the continued progress of the Cherry Creek community.
