Another Celebrity On Board for the 2017 Carousel Ball!

Comedian and actor George Lopez will be the emcee for the event, benefiting the Children's Diabetes Foundation

The Carousel Ball is always one-upping itself with fabulous celebrity appearances and amazing items up for auction each year. If you're familiar with the show-stopping event, you know that the glitz and glamor is all for a wonderful cause. Benefits go to the Children's Diabetes Foundation, which is dedicated to increasing awareness for diabetes and raising funds for clinical care and diabetes research at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes.

In addition to the already star-studded event (rock legend Lenny Kravitz is slated to perform), Gala Chair Dana Davis and Honorary Chairwoman Barbara Davis announced on September 21, 2017, that comedian and actor George Lopez will be the emcee for the 2017 Carousel Ball

Emcee George Lopez is currently on his standup comedy tour, The Comedy Get Down, with Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, and Cedric the Entertainer in arenas across the country. Lopez is also starring in his new comedy series, Lopez on TV Land. Prior to his current tour, Lopez hosted Lopez Tonight, a late-night television talk show on TBS, which represented Lopez’s return to series television after co-creating, writing, producing and starring in Warner Bros. Television’s groundbreaking hit sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons on ABC.

George Lopez remains a hit with viewers in syndication on both broadcast stations and cable’s Nick at Nite, ranking as one of the top-rated shows on the network and among the top five comedies and top 20 weekly programs in syndication. In 2006, Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition, Time magazine named him one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America, and the Harris Poll named him one of the Top Ten Favorite Television Personalities.

On top of all the excitement, the event will also auction off one-of-a-kind items like Lenny Kravitz’s Epiphone Les Paul autographed guitar; two tickets to a private-residence concert by Steven Tyler in Palm Springs; a bracelet with 8 carats of dazzling diamonds made exclusively for CDF by Trice Jewelers ($20,000); a 10-night stay for 3 couples in a 3-bedroom villa + chef’s dinner + massages + private cabana at Belmond La Samanna in St. Martin ($75,000); two VIP tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres Show; fashion handbags from Etro, Valentino, and Giorgio Armani; hotel stays to Taj Campton Place San Francisco, The Beverly Hills Hotel, The Loews Regency New York, and The Little Nell.
