A Colorado Ranch Listed for $46 Million

The 4,600-acre property features private river fishing, horse facilities, a tennis court, helicopter hangar and mountain rustic interiors

A retreat in the Rockies is on the market and it could be yours for a whopping $46 million. The property is perfect for the avid outdoorsman with private river fishing, big game hunting, bird hunting, a golf course, tennis court and horse facilities.

Henry R. Kravis, the billionaire co-founder of private equity giant KKR, listed this luxurious Colorado ranch. Known as Westlands, the 4,600-acre property is over 20 miles southeast of the town of Meeker, and more than an hour’s drive from the resort communities of Aspen and Vail.

The main lodge is roughly 19,000-square-feet and features bent log rafters and large fireplaces, some of which have mantels imported from European castles. The upper level has five bedrooms, including the master suite, as well as a library, a great room and a dining room. The lower level includes a wine cellar, a game room, a theater, a hot tub, a sauna, steam rooms, and a wet bar.

Listing agent  Brian Smith of Hall and Hall said the sale price includes most of the property’s furniture, some of which was made on site by French craftsmen.

The grounds include a swimming pool, two large guest cabins, a carriage house and outbuildings for staff, horses and ranch support facilities. There is a four-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman, and over 5 miles of the White River set aside for trout fishing. There is also a tennis court, a helipad and a helicopter hangar.
