5 Ways to Grant Wishes for Children With Critical Illnesses

As the holidays approach, join Make-A-Wish Colorado and share the joy of the season with wish families

The power of the wishes granted by Make-A-Wish® Colorado is evident from just a glance at the faces of a wish family. In addition to smiles that stretch from ear to ear, the child’s eyes will sparkle with wonder and excitement, while the parents eyes exude serenity and contentment.

Those same expressions of joy and fulfillment appear on the faces of everyone associated with a wish – from the wish granters to the donors to the passersby lucky enough to receive a high five from a grinning wish kid. Make-A-Wish Colorado shares that amazing impact by engaging the community in a variety of activities year-round that allow individuals to pursue their passions while supporting wish families.

Recently, more than 50 hikers participated in the 2nd annual Trailblaze Challenge, a 23.7 mile hike completed in one life-changing day. Others rallied teams to compete in the Young Professionals Group Kickball Tournament and still others enjoyed a day admiring exotic and classic cars during Wheels & Wishes. In October, more than 600 community members and wish families celebrated together at the 3rd annual Walk For Wishes & 5K at Hudson Gardens.

As the holidays approach, Make-A-Wish Colorado offers several opportunities to share the joy of the season with wish families – and to lift the spirits of all involved.
