The Springs Resort – New Hotel Makes Wellness Top Priority
Soak, sleep and rejuvenate in style at Colorado’s newest wellness-forward escape.
The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, has been welcoming visitors since the 1950s. Of course, long before that, Native Americans, such as the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, had been coming to this area to take in the warm waters. The word “Pagosa” comes from the Ute word meaning “healing waters.”
Today, The Springs Resort has added a new hotel (78 rooms), newly relocated spa with panoramic sauna, wellness activities pool, new restaurant and new pools. The focus is wellness, and the well-being of guests is the top priority. No where is this more apparent than the Sleep Tray that is included in each room at the new hotel.
This isn’t just a place to come and soak and spa. It’s a place to come to get a wonderful night of deep relaxing sleep. Each room comes with this tray, equipped with a sleep stick, personal ear plugs, cleansing towelette and call phone sleep sack. Before a guest’s deep sleep on a comfy bed and luxurious sheets, The Spring’s newest spa and hot springs offerings are all bent towards a guest’s well-being, both body and soul.
Twenty-five new springs have been added to the resort, making a total of 52 pools terraced beside the San Juan River. There is an adult-only quiet section, along with pools that allow children. The source of The Springs water is from the Mother Spring, the deepest hot spring in the world. There is also a cold-plunge pool as well as easy access to the river, for those who want a natural cold plunge. This increasingly popular trend is said to have all sorts of positive effects such as improved circulation, mood boost, reduced inflammation and more.
A stay at the new hotel not only grants full-access to the new pools, but also entry to the spa, where guests can shower and receive new robes and towels whenever they wish. These items are available at the hotel front desk as well. Every aspect of the new hotel and spa keeps wellness top of mind. Not only are the warm pools restorative, the offerings such as complimentary wellness classes for guests are crafted with well-being in mind. Included in these complimentary offerings are Aqua Yoga, Aqua Sound Bathing, Aqua Soak & Stretch, Warrior Plunge, and more like a Mud Thermal Loft. See all wellness activities here.
Inside the new hotel is a beautiful lobby bar, and the Wild Finch Restaurant. Light and bright, the restaurant is led by Chef Daya Myers. Regional ingredients are the star, and while there is an international flair to the food, there is comfort and familiarity too. Each dish has been created not only to nourish, but to be delicious. The overriding theme seems to be freshness, from picked quail eggs to the local mushrooms used in the risotto, everything has been thoughtfully created, from the garden to the kitchen to plate. A meal at Wild Finch is a flavorful experience that won’t soon be forgotten. Especially if punctuated by the Lime in the Coconut, a coconut granita, shortbread crumble and chantilly cream.
The Springs Resort has always been about fun and relaxation, now, with the new addition, it’s taken health, contentment, and gratitude to another level. In an increasingly busy and uncertain world, couldn’t we use a little serenity, self-reflection and gratitude?
