An extra special treat is a stay at The Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins, Colorado. Make it even more special by staying in one of the themed suites. Colorado State grads will be jealous of our stay in the Rams Suite. This one bedroom suite with a sunset view pays classy homage to Colorado State University, located just down the road from the hotel.

Open since 2017, The Elizabeth is the crown jewel of downtown. The building includes not only the hotel, but a rooftop lounge, music-centered bar, and an elegant restaurant. The Sunset Lounge has become the go-to spot for date nights and The Magic Rat is a favorite for watching live music. Both are places to see and be seen in downtown.

Taking a lyrical hint from Fort Collins, a musical town, The Elizabeth is all about music. It features a lending library that includes record albums and guitars. Record players adorn every room for vintage listening during a stay.

A variety of standard rooms are available including corner kings and kings with balconies. There are also unique suites with individual themes such as the Music Suite, Ram Suite and the Beer & Bikes Suite. With a total of 164 guest rooms and suites, like all Marriott Autograph properties, The Elizabeth is one-of-a-kind.

The patios at The Elizabeth offer a spectacular view of the city and not so far off mountains. The Ram Suite, for instance, has a large private patio with vistas of the setting sun.

Couples dressed in their swanky best can be seen enjoying cocktails, listening to jazz and watching the sun go down at Sunset Lounge. The best bartenders in town whip up cocktails like Pretty in Pink, a vodka drink with elderflower blackberry and lemon topped with prosecco. The knowledgeable staff also keeps interesting liquors on hand like a gin from Spain called Nordés and a variety of mezcals.

While the Sunset Lounge is perfect for romantic nights, The Magic Rat is for rock-n-roll, and a variety of other genres that take the stage here. The marquee above the bar, and the low slung furniture, give the place a throwback feel. Even Bruce Springsteen would approve. The Emporium: An American Brasserie, has patrons feeling as though they’re dining with other expats at the American Embassy in some far off land, or perhaps in the big city like New York.

Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and room service, the menu features delights like a green chile breakfast burrito and bison stout pot pie or trout huitlacoche and steak au poivre. Don’t miss the bread board, served with roasted garlic herb butter, it’s simply divine.

In a departure from the average dining experience, guests can select a bottle of wine from the restaurant’s large wine display. The staff can suggest the perfect pairing for a specific meal, making the entire experience that much more memorable (and delicious).

Belly up to The Emporium’s bar, a comfortable spot to sample Fort Collins’ best known beverage, craft beer. Wash down that tasty FOCO Burger or fish and chips with a brew from the World Famous New Belgium Brewing located just a stones throw away. Or, pair a meal with a beer from a much smaller Fort Collins brewery, Zwei Brewing.

Fort Collins is a vibrant city, offering much to the visitor. There is an array of top-rated breweries around. Salt Road Brewing is located behind The Elizabeth, and Old Town Square is only a block or so away. The entire downtown is easily accessible and walkable from The Elizabeth.

With charming alleyways, a variety of boutiques selling everything from clothes to tea to books, Fort Collins is the perfect place for a weekend (or longer) getaway. And for grads of Colorado State University looking to go back for a visit in style, there’s The Ram Suite at The Elizabeth Hotel.
