Visions of Grandeur

If America had kings, architect Bobby McAlpine and his team would be building homes for them. The McAlpine group—architects Greg Tankersly, Chris Tippett, John Sease and David Baker and interior designers Ray Booth and Susan Ferrier—create regal spaces that embrace the traditional with a modern sensibility as well as a perfect dose of restraint. Twenty such homes are displayed in Poetry of Place: The New Architecture and Interiors of McAlpine (Rizzoli), written by Bobby McAlpine and Susan Sully. $34
