Sew Much Fun at Fabricate

A sewing workshop based in Boulder, Colorado

Fabricate is a Boulder sewing workshop that allows people to make things they can actually use. Its roster of after-school workshops, summer camps, adult classes and private parties offers adults and kids a chance to make dinner napkins, throw pillows, reversible purses, pajama pants, tote bags and baby blankets. The designer fabrics are on trend, and the sewing machines are high-quality.

Yes, 95 percent of the boutique’s clientele is predictably female, but owner Linda Spillman says she sees the occasional guy who wants to start an outdoor-gear company and needs to learn how to sew. My friend just booked a private “bro-sew” class for her fifth-grade son and his pals to make padded cases for their school-issued iPads. Sew fun.
