Samantha Hitchcock Terkun's Favorite Things

The co-owner of The Woods Fine Jewelry shares her favorite things

Aspen resident Samantha Hitchcock Terkun, co-owner of The Woods Fine Jewelry, shares her must-haves.

1. COLORADO ACTIVITY.  I love to start the summer at the Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Festival and end it with the iconic hike from Maroon Bells to Crested Butte. palisademusic.com

2. FURNITURE STORE. Little Horse in Louisville and Fort Collins always has unique home accessories that I don’t see anywhere else. I love their vintage textiles, esoteric books and incredible selection of vinyl. littlehorsevintage.com

3. HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE. I would love to say that it’s my Norwalk Juicer, but the reality is that I am nothing without my Nespresso and milk frother. De’Longhi Nespresso Lattissima Plus, $399.99; bedbathandbeyond.com

4. CULTURE. We are so lucky to have the Aspen Art Museum for its unique architecture, as well as the world-class exhibits. The recent Margaret Kilgallen show was one of my all-time favorites. aspenartmuseum.org

"SHABBAT 1925" 40" X 50" by Safir Marolt

5. COLORADO ARTIST. Aspen artist Shelly Safir Marolt—her commissioned portraits are so special, and her interpretations of children are remarkable. I also really like Denver artist Jillian FitzMaurice. Her palm trees give me beach vibes in the dead of winter. shellysafir.com, jilliankayworks.com

6. RESTAURANT. I go to Home Team BBQ at the base of Buttermilk Mountain at least once a week. The wings are simply the best I have ever had. hometeambbq.com

7. LUGGAGE. Bags from Away are great and so easy. I have the large carry-on and the big checked bag, both in navy with a red-and-white monogram. I also love Topo luggage accessories to keep things organized. The Bigger Carry-On, $245, The Large, $295; awaytravel.com, topodesigns.com

8. SHEETS/BEDDING. Linge Particulier linen from Homebody in Denver. We have the sheets and duvet covers—it’s really fun to mix all the unconventional colors and prints. We also use them at our rental property, Casa Primos in Costa Rica, and all of our renters always ask where they are from. homebodydenver.com

9. PERFUME. My whole family wears Byredo from Homebody: My niece wears Gypsy Water, my sister wears Bal D’Afrique, and I love Elevator Music. $165-$275, homebodydenver.com
