Powdered wigs, feathers, grapefruit-sized glasses and enough sequins to costume a small country—Sir Elton Hercules John (real name Reginald Dwight) has always been his own creation. The man and his piano, along with lifelong lyricist Bernie Taupin, have produced more than 30 albums, including 50 Top-40 hits, and sold 300 million records. And now, after 50 years of touring, the consummate performer is bidding the stage adieu. John’s farewell tour is a long and winding one (three years, 20 countries). The annual four-day extreme-sport spectacle features 200 global thrill-seeking athletes competing in events like Big Air Skiing, SuperPipe Snowboarding and Freestyle Snowmobiling, at the base of Buttermilk Mountain. Music performances between competitions include The Chainsmokers, Lil Wayne, Louis the Child and Kygo.
