What to expect at the exciting 2nd annual philanthropic gala

A non-profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of others through home modification, the Home Builders Foundation has been carrying out good deeds for 26 years in the Denver homebuilding community. To honor these accomplishments, HBF is hosting its annual celebration on June 6 at the Infinity Park Event Center in Glendale to raise awareness and funds to continue these projects to help others.

Home modification for those who cannot afford the access to renovations is of the utmost importance to HBF and their engagement within the community. Since 1993, HBF has aided those with physical disabilities and gave them the resources to make their homes accessible and comfortable– regardless of their financial circumstances. Through fundraisers hosted by the non-profit, they have generated thousands of dollars that is given back to those in need.

The night will kick off with cocktails for guests to imbibe, along with tasty bites to nosh on. Following is the silent auction that will include high-quality prizes to bid on, with all proceeds funneling back into home renovation projects such as installing accessible ramps and bathrooms.

Attendees are then asked to join for the evening’s programming that will include past stories of those assisted by HBF, a live auction and paddle raiser. Special guest and Colorado Olympic swimmer, Amy Van Dyken, will be the keynote speaker and will tell her story of life and triumph before and after an ATV accident left her paralyzed.

Beth Forbes, Executive Director of HBF, is ecstatic for Van Dyken’s involvement as this year’s keynote speaker during the concluding programming.

“As a Colorado native and person living with a spinal cord injury, she has a unique understanding and appreciation of the impact of our work. Many of us have followed Amy from early on in her swimming career, through her spinal cord injury and she continues to inspire us,” Forbes said.
