Women artists from around the United States will converge in September for their 49th annual art salon and sale hosted by Women Artists of the West(WAOW) and exhibited at Mary Williams Fine Arts in Boulder, Colorado.
National shows of this caliber rarely come to Boulder and Mary Williams’ reputation coupled with the city’s support of fine arts compelled this iconic art group to choose Boulder for their prestigious event.
“The bar has been raised and the art has never been better. This juried show is truly a jewel in our crown. This exceptional collection of fine art will be available to Boulder patrons to enjoy and purchase. It will be the best of the best from women artists all over the country and I am honored to showcase this work in Boulder,” commented Mary Williams.
WAOW chose Mary Williams Fine Arts due to Ms. Williams’ extensive experience hosting numerous large juried art shows, her innate ability to attractively showcase talent and her stellar reputation for supporting the arts. This year’s national salon, Mountain Aire, will showcase over 100 paintings and sculptures across a broad range of mediums and subject matter.
The opening night reception is Thursday, September 12th from 5 pm until 8 pm. It promises to be an evening of celebrating fine art as the community gathers to support accomplished women artists.
WAOW members will be painting plein-air during opening weekend and some of the work created at the plein-air paint-out will be donated to Boulder Bridge House — a non-profit group providing housing and resources for adults.
Various artist demonstrations will also be offered at the gallery on Thursday and Friday.
