We sit down with Hotel Teatro’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Megan Pierce, to explore the legacy of this iconic Denver stay—and get the inside scoop on what’s new and next.

What drives the hotel’s commitment to immersive guest engagement?

Megan Pierce: At Hotel Teatro, immersive guest engagement is more than a touchpoint — it’s our guiding philosophy. Whether a stay is one night or an extended visit, our goal is to create a meaningful experience that connects guests to the spirit of Denver and the rich story behind the hotel itself. From the moment guests arrive, we set the tone with a complimentary welcome drink — a warm, personal gesture that signals the beginning of something special.

Housed in the historic Denver Tramway Building, originally completed in the early 1900s, Hotel Teatro is deeply rooted in the city’s past. The name “Teatro,” Italian for “theater,” pays tribute to our neighbor, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and speaks to our connection with Denver’s cultural scene. Our programming is designed to bring this connection to life.

From Women Winemaker Wednesdays in The Study to live music every Friday, these curated experiences are available to all guests. Whether someone is visiting for business, leisure or a mix of both, we strive to create moments that are memorable, meaningful and unmistakably local — the kind that keep guests coming back time and time again.

Can you share the inspiration behind Women Winemaker Wednesdays and Foraging for Urban Fruit + Canning and how they align with the hotel’s broader vision?

MP: Women Winemaker Wednesdays and Foraging for Urban Fruit + Canning reflect how we see The Study as a space for thoughtful exploration that celebrates local creativity, community and sustainability. Women Winemaker Wednesdays was developed under the leadership of Taylor Trenda, our General Manager of Food and Beverage. Seeing an opportunity to activate the hotel’s communal spaces, she launched the series to spotlight breakthrough female winemakers and locally owned businesses. The monthly event gives guests (and non-guests) the chance to taste wines made by female winemakers and learn about their craft in a relaxed, approachable setting.

The Foraging for Urban Fruit + Canning program connects to our commitment to sustainability and local food. It offers a hands-on way for guests to discover Denver through urban foraging—finding fruit that grows naturally around the city—and learn basic preserving techniques like canning. This program is still in development, but we’re excited to offer this one-of-a-kind experience to guests in the future. These programs are part of our effort to breathe new life into the historic hotel by creating experiences that connect guests with the local culture and community and also gives them a chance to explore and enjoy something truly authentic during their visit that they won’t find anywhere else.

Are there any upcoming events, collaborations, or unique offerings at Hotel Teatro that the team is particularly excited about and would like our readers to know?

MP: Yes, there are several! We recently rolled out and exclusive partnership with Evolv MedSpa to offer wellness treatments like mini facials, Botox, and IV therapy right here in any of our rooms, giving guests convenient access to these services during their stay, which we think is perfect for a girls’ getaway. We’re also continuing our weekly Live Music Fridays, held throughout the year. With a rotating lineup of local musicians, it’s a perfect way to wind down the week with great music and an expertly crafted cocktail in hand. Not to mention, we roll out The Chandon Cart with our signature Garden Spritz and happy hour specials on the last Friday of every month.
